The Georgian Grande

The Georgian Grande breed is an elegant and quite noble blend of the saddlebred, blended perfectly with the size, good bone, and calm disposition of the draft horse. It carries itself with an attitude that eludes description, some call it "presence, class or style", but this superior air distiguishes every movement of the Georgian Grande. This breed is extremely versatile and good at multiple disciplines, their movements is that of upper level dressage. They also excel in driving as well as jumping, on trails they are dependable, quiet and calm. They grow big and stay sound.

In every case, the purpose of blending the Saddlebred with the draft is to produce offspring that are a perfect blend of the two breeds, having the best of both worlds, and being even better than either parent. Such is the magnificent Georgian Grande.

Saddlebreds and Half-Saddlebreds are gaining recognition in the Sport Horse world as hard-working athletes with " a touch of class".  Flying W Farms in Ohio (and founder of the Georgian Grande breed), has been producing this cross with consistent, impressive results for years.  This amazing combination produces horses with intelligence, gentle spirit, excellent work ethic,  impressive size, and outstanding movement -- through carefully chosen conformation of parents -- that consistently produces good shoulder angles, ample substance, generous length of neck, heavy bone in the frame and legs -- all in the first generation offspring.

Purpose of the breed;

The purpose of blending of the Saddlebred with the draft or Friesian is to produce offspring that are the perfect blend, having the best of both "worlds", resulting in the heavier boned, "old fashioned" or
Baroque saddlebred type;  Such is the magnificent Georgian Grande.
